It was a delight to meet a few weeks ago with Claire Gevaux, Creative Director of Help Musicians UK, to talk about Amadeus at the National Theatre, and the wider approach to work in general as a young musician. Help Musicians were crucial during my studies, providing financial support at an incredibly precarious time. Their new Professional Pathways podcast series features musicians who’ve received HMUK’s assistance and are now pursuing various careers in the music industry.
The interview took place in the Olivier Theatre itself, during the crazy week of rehearsals and preview shows (leading up to the opening night), and features a soundtrack of various sound cues from the show, including a persistent self-playing piano!
